Walk the World 2008
Join us on Sunday June 1st at Windsor Great Park
On June 1st TNT's annual partnership event with the United Nations World Food Programme, Walk the World, is taking place across the globe and spanning 24 time zones. Here in the UK the event is being held in Windsor Great Park.
Walk the World is the world's largest annual global fund raising event that was first launched by TNT in 2004. Since then the walk has grown from 40,000 participants to 550,000 in 2007, starting in Auckland New Zealand before finishing a day later in Samoa.
In the UK we want you to join us on a 5km walk through the beautiful grounds of Windsor Great Park, taking in stunning views of Windsor Castle along the way. There will also be a 5km run for those feeling more competitive, both of which are followed by an afternoon of activities and family entertainment including live music, food, games and competitions and all topped off with a special performance from members of the West End hit The Lord of the Dance!
The day is open to anyone and everyone from you to family and friends. All you need to do to register your participation is fill in the details on the right hand side, if you register before May 5th you will receive a free Walk the World T-Shirt on the day. We will then send you all the information you need and keep you up to date with any news right up until the event.
- Registration starts at 9.00am
- Walk begins at 10am
- Walk finishes at 12.00pm
- Family entertainment and activities starts at 12.00pm
- Run starts at 12.15pm
- Close at 4.00pm
- The funds raised by Walk the World 2008 will go directly to the WFP's School Feeding Programme in Tanzania
